Jiangsu Province is located on the east coast of China. The total land area of the province is 102,600 square kilometers. The province is crossed by the Yangtze River from east to west and by the Grand Canal from north to south, while Lake Taihu and Lake Hongze, both located within Jiangsu's borders, are two of the largest lakes in China. In addition, the province is blessed with more than 900 kilometers of coastline.

Jiangsu has a typical monsoon climate,with an annual average temperature ranging from 13 ºC to 16 ºC. The climate here is semi-humid and subtropical. There are four distinct seasons with cold winters and hot summers.
